Hi there,

I'm Sarah

I have the best job in the world!

I am a singing teacher, singer, songwriter, community musician and workshop leader.

My classical training and technique combined with my great love of popular, jazz and world music  makes me a versatile singer and teacher. If you want to sing - I can help you find your voice!

Bio

I am an experienced voice teacher, passionate about the way the voice works and eager to inspire each individual to play their 'own instrument'.  My goal is simple - to help students gain the confidence to tell the song's 'story' - even when there are no words -and so discover their unique, true voice.

I work with individuals (school children and adults), small groups in masterclasses and with large choirs.  Groups I have worked with on vocal improvement include Duns Operatic Society, The Bridge Singers and Dunbar Sings.

Other singing projects and groups I have worked with include Bluejam Arts, 20,000 Voices and Woodhorn Colliery Museum.

I'm based in the North East of England and work primarily in Tyne and Wear, Cumbria and Scotland.

Education

B.A. Hons Creative & Performing Arts

1983 - 1986

My first degree from Northumbria University had a strong bias towards Community Arts which has stayed with me all my life. Singing, playing, creating and improvising with different people - be it writing music with groups or leading community choirs - has always been my most rewarding work - and the most fun!
